Now that we’re at the heart of Spring, here are 4 simple ways to freshen up your space!

Spring is the season in which the natural world revives after the chaos of the winter months, as trees, plants, and flowers begin to bloom and grow, springtime symbolises new beginnings. However it isn’t just the natural world that deserves a rebirth, there really is no better time to reinvent your living space.

“As we evolve, our homes should too.”   – Suzanne Tucker

Here are some simple decor tips to hopefully inspire your spring style and help to make a change in your home.

Considered Organisation

Considered organisation revolves around showcasing and displaying belongings in an intentional way, if you’re looking for a quick and easy way to change up your decor this could be it.

“Uncluttered and well-organised, almost Zen-living, spaces that are “less is more”, with calming clean lines.” – Bo Hellberg, the CMO at String Furniture.

It’s predicted that people will continue to utilise their space in new ways as covid has led us to merge our personal and professional lives. Decluttering is the first step to considering organisation however it is a fine art, finding storage spaces without compromising your space.

Separate your space, but stay social with room dividing storage solutions. With the added perk of making a design statement for your space, a shelf as a room separator has multiple benefits over other options such as folding screens. It creates storage space, allowing you to store all of the previous belongings that didn’t make the decluttering cut. It also will enable you to showcase your favourite items, and doesn’t compromise light quality.

We love these dividers from Pietro Russo Design Studio.

Upcycling And DIY

Sustainability is, quite rightly, on everybody’s mind these days. So let’s start to get more creative with the items we already have at home, and here’s how…

Everybody has an old set of drawers or an old coffee table that’s collecting dust. As part of your spring cleaning this year, why not spruce up something you had forgotten about by simply adding a new paint colour, fabric upholstery, handles or varnish?

Upcycling holds many benefits. Whilst giving you a new creative project to invest in, it provides a sense of accomplishment knowing that you are creating a one of a kind item that is completely unique to your home. Not to mention that it is cost-effective! Alternatively, brighten up aged spaces with a fresh coat of paint on the skirting boards. Quick DIY jobs like this are the perfect way to perk up a tired-looking room, and don’t be scared to inject a little colour! You can see great examples of this on our Insta page, look out for the green gym!

Bring The Outside In

This spring it has grown more popular to reflect nature in our interiors. Green is the standout colour of the season, adding a revitalising impact on our homes.

“Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.  As greenery is nature’s neutral, it is constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront – it is an omnipresent hue around the world.” – Pantone

Using botanical designs as inspiration and features of exposed wood also elevates the idea of bringing the outside in. This creates a relaxing space, said to aid in helping well being and mental health.

Whilst organising and cleansing your home for Spring it is also important to cleanse yourself, by bringing the outside in, plants can help to reduce stress and anxiety, simultaneously helping you to feel calmer and self-aligned and neutralising air quality.

Carry on your botanical-inspired interior by adding a botanical or tropical print wallpaper to your living, dining room or bathrooms and bedrooms. These kinds of prints work particularly well on feature walls.

Artwork & Sculpture

A great way to freshen up your space is to brighten it with some exciting new artwork. There are so many fun ways to achieve this. From gallery walls to statement pieces the options are endless. Follow our ‘The Grand Design’ project for more inspiration on this!

Artwork can have a huge transformational impact on a space. It acts as the focal point, bringing together various elements in a room. A few brightly coloured pieces of artwork can easily liven up a dark or poorly lit room.

Artwork is something to enjoy the process of and have fun finding or creating artwork that reflects your personality and perfectly matches your home. This injection of your personality will guarantee an uplifting feeling every time you enter the room.
